A single trigger hand-held scanner is an extremely efficient tool for certain tasks within EMDECS. Click here to learn more about scanners that are compatible with EMDECS.
Along with technician scanning for the purpose of tracking time on jobs, a scanner can help with the following inventory tasks by scanning system generated part labels that convert part numbers into bar codes that can be scanned, or by making use of the part manufacturer’s UPCs (once they’ve been associated with the part numbers in EMDECS):
Part Issuing – Quickly and easily add parts to work orders, repair orders and counter (part) sales.
Receiving – Indicate a part being received by scanning either its EMDECS label or UPC, than indicate a quantity.
Physical Count – To help speed up inventory count updates, identify a part by scanning its EMDECS label or UPC and indicate its quantity.
