Invoice number sequencing in EMDECS is flexible – invoice numbers generated in a shop can share the sequencing of other shop locations within the same company or be independent of the other shop locations.
If shared, each invoice generated at any shop location will be numbered in sequence – ex., shop location (A) generates an invoice number WI00001. Shop location (B) of the same company generates an invoice next and is given invoice number WI00002, and so on. Notice that the invoice number prefix is also shared. This prefix can be customized up to four characters long.
If independent of each other, shop (A) would generate invoice number WIA00001 and if shop location (B) generates an invoice next, it could also have invoice number WIB00001 – each shop location can have it’s own sequence, independent of the other shop locations. With this setup, invoice number prefixes are independent of each other, customizable up to four characters long and serve to help identify the shop location.
The EMDECS system default is for each shop location to have independent invoice number sequencing and prefix, but shared sequencing can be setup by Perfit during your system’s initial configuration if desired. The configuration can be changed at a later time if necessary.
