As long as a shop has work benchmarks setup in EMDECS, there are reports available, Employee Hours Profit & Loss (1st generation EMDECS), Employee Time Sheet (2nd generation EMDECS) to compare the shop as a whole, or an individual’s performance against those benchmarks. The true value of this of course is to help identify the areas of particular strength and areas that might require more training for individuals. Identifying specific strengths allows a manager to distribute jobs accordingly whenever possible to help ensure that jobs are completed to the best of a shop’s ability and in the most efficient manner.
Setting up benchmarks, often referred to in the repair industry as Standard Repair Times (SRTs) in EMDECS involves attaching expected time frames to labor activities, then accurately tracking the time it takes for employees to complete the tasks. Tech RO has been specifically designed to allow maintenance and repair times for individual jobs to be captured in real time, within the natural process flow of the average shop, thereby providing accurate repair times for analysis.
