The cost of inventory parts in EMDECS can be updated in 3 different ways . . . manually, by price tape or through a receiving . . .
Manually – Access the record of a part in the Item Master (EMDECS generation 1) or Part Master (EMDECS generation 2) and simply enter a cost.
Price Tape – Have your EMDECS system setup to periodically read a supplied price tape that will keep part costs in your system up to date with a supplier’s catalog prices.
Receiving – Part costs are not updated from purchase orders – however, upon being ‘received’ in the system, either against a PO or as a Quick Receiving without a PO, part costs will be updated from the confirmed receiving record.
