ROs created in real time by service technicians using the Tech RO screens in the 2nd generation of EMDECS might contain errors or omissions. As the latest screens have been designed to follow a human-centric process flow within a typical shop, the reality of imperfectly built ROs has been considered.
Once a technician marks an RO Unit Ready in Tech RO, an invoice is not immediately produced – or in the case of a fleet, the RO is not immediately submitted to head office. A service manager has the opportunity to review each RO using the Complete RO screen.
All entries – labor, parts, notes, unit readings, etc. can be double-checked. If a technician forgot to clock onto a job and the time spent was not properly calculated, the tech can simply inform the service manager and the information on the RO can easily be fixed or updated. If necessary, an RO can be sent back to the tech to be opened and corrected in Tech RO, then marked Unit Ready again for manager’s review.
